I just discovered this book called "Wikis and the Intelligence Analysis" dealing with the use of wikis as a tool to work with Intel.

It seems the authors see wikis as a great tool by its usage characteristics that suits perfectly the Intelligence Analysis tasks, I thought it was really cool such a book exists and that maybe it complements itself with the INTDB project I'm sharing in this same blog.

Sadly as the exchange rate here in Argentina is killing me I can't buy a copy to read the book entirely and I was just able to peek it in the Amazon's demo.

If any of you has already read it and can tell me some more about it or would like to donate a copy I'll really appreciate it ;)

Security: A resistance manual by Sam Culper Review

Hey guys

If you read Mosby's blog probably you already know Sam Culper from http://guerrillamerica.com/
a blog dealing with Intelligence Collection and Analysis oriented to prepper, resistance, III% kind
of folks.

Sam for sure knows what he is talking about and you can appreciate that both in his blog as in
"Security: A Resistance Manual" the e-book he wrote and I'm reviewing in this post.

"Security: A Resistance Manual" is an excellent primer on the techniques and procedures that will
allow a resistance to operate and communicate securely under the constant watch of Big Brother.

Topics covered in the book include communications security (COMSEC), information security
(INFOSEC), personnel security (PERSEC) and operations security (OPSEC).

Good thing is that the e-book goes straight to the point  and in every chapter you'll find tips or
actions you can take easily to improve your group security, also the book is explained in layman
terms, so you don't need to be a tech savvy guy to understand what Sam is talking about.

But don't get me wrong, even people with knowledge in COMSEC/INFOSEC will find gold nuggets
in this e-book, and new stuff to research and experiment.

Sam also provides a list of useful links to continue learning about the different subjects covered, and
even better, he provides his awesome blog whose content complements perfectly this e-book.

Solid stuff Sam, thanks a lot for the awesome e-book, the only con I found is that is short and leaves
you wanting more, but well, we have the blog to satisfy that :D

Going Home by A.American Review

Hey guys, I just finished reading "Going Home" by A.American and let me tell you I liked it a lot, so
much that I already bought the second part called "Surviving home".

Is about a guy called Morgan that gets stranded in his car miles and miles away from his home and
family when a big EMP happens.
The EMP stuff I think is overused because you can see it in all the prepping books, but its useful just
to set up a quick SHTF situation for the rest of the story to develop.
In "Going Home" not much details are given about what happens in regards to the EMP event.

So Morgan grabs his bag and starts his trip to join his family, later he will find some companions that
will help him in his travel.

A good thing is that Morgan's bag contents are real, you can look for the things he uses and they
really exist, and the author provides tips without detailing for pages and pages all the contents of the
bag like you can see in similar books.

The book is written in first person, something that in the beginning was kind of annoying, but you get
used to it.
Also I think the book gets you hooked as soon as the first companion appears and isn't just Morgan
walking.

It was a great read

Aaron Cohen - Technical Advisor & Weapons Trainer - Haywire

Here is a video of the work Aaron did as tech advisor for the movie Haywire.
If you don't know who Aaron is, you should read his book "Brotherhood of warriors",
the book is an auto biography of this Canadian guy, who lived in Beverly Hills and went
to Israel to join the IDF SFs and worked as an undercover agent in Palestine. The book
is extremely fun, I finished it in 2 days. Totally recommended.

Hey today I have an awesome ebook to share with you, its called "Survival and Austere
Medicine" and it was written and edited by The Remote, Austere, Wilderness and Third World

LDS Preparedness Manual

A lot of people in the prepper community are recommending this book, and I plan to do
the same :D

This book is a collection of essays written by members of "The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints" aka Mormons, but don't worry, the manual only has an intro explaining
why the church ask their followers to prep, and the rest of the chapters are pure gold.

This book in its 222 pages covers food storage really deeply and has tons of checklist
that are really handy.

The best of all is that you can get an online copy fro FREE from:

You also can order printed copies for the price of the paper, that is 8 bucks, sadly

Lights Out on paper

The book Lights Out, which is one of the best books I read in my life, its about the life of a group
of people after the USA is hit by an EMP bomb, it was written by David Crawford, aka Halffast
and at first it was distributed in digital format for free, due it's incredible success the author
decided to publish it on paper.

After waiting for a long time now the book is available for you to buy it at amazon or at its
website lightsoutthebook.com.

Hey guyz I'm reading the book Lights Out by David Crawford, aka Halffast and I strongly
recommend you to read it, not only because its awesome and you can learn tons of stuff from
it but also because IT WAS FREE.

In its 600 pages Halffast show us what would happen if the USA electrical power grid went
down because of a terrorist attack and how a group of normal people organizes to survive the
hard times following it.

complete book is being removed from the free distribution channels, but if you search carefully
maybe you can still found a complete copy.

I'm somewhat busy lately that's why I'm not posting
much, but here I am, with another lockpicking post.

"The complete guide to lockpicking" its a must read if you
are interested in the subject, Eddie the wire did a great job
explaining in a simple way how the different types of
locks work and how you can bypass them, he also talks
about the tools you need to do the work and how to create
your own mounting board to practice, all that in less than
100 pages.

The book also contains a section explaining the
modifications done in the basic mechanisms in order to
complicate lockpickers life, but also how to bypass them,
the cat and the mouse game also applies here :)

In this awesome book Marsel explains why are produced and how to exploit the most common
attack vectors.
You'll find info about LFI, RFI, traversals, SQL injections, XSS with sample code both in perl
and PHP.
The book also comes with a CDROM with exploitable code and instructions to install a web
server on your PC to test your knowledge.
